Fortnite: 100T drops Risker from pro team
By Eric Brown
Fortnite’s next major competitive tournament has yet to be announced for 2019, however one team will look different, as 100T has decided to part ways with professional player Alex “Risker” Biamonte.
Back in June of 2018, 100 Thieves decided to enter the professional Fortnite business with their own 4-man squad. Originally consisting of Risker, Parallax, SirDimetrious, and Kenith, the team had some success in the competitive tournaments, with each player competing during the summer and fall skirmishes during the ongoing $100 million competitive season.
Despite getting off to a rocky start, the 100T squad did have a major record, until it was broken at a later date. In September of 2018, 100T CEO Nadeshot decided to fly the team out to Los Angeles in an attempt to break the world record for most kills in a squad match by a single team. After countless hours of trying, countless number of times dying off spawn, or simply not getting enough shield to begin the game, the team finally secured the record with an unprecedented 54 kill game.
In the latest competitive tournament, the now infamous Winter Royale, only Kenith managed to qualify for the finals for team 100T. It could be possible that Nadeshot decided to part ways with Risker due to under-performance, however with Risker himself stating the decision was mutual, there is a good chance we see him sign with another organization in the coming months.
Despite being dropped from the 100T roster, Risker will still be heavily involved in the competitive Fortnite scene moving forward. What do you think of this move for 100Thieves, and where do you think Risker ends up?
