Fortnite’s holiday-themed ’14 Days of Fortnite’ event will return next week in light of widespread confusion and disappointment from the community.

The holidays are a time for giving and Epic Games gave Fortnite: Battle Royale fans a pretty cool even in December. Called the “14 Days of Fortnite” — a play on the classic “12 Days of Christmas” song — the event presented players with a series of challenges, with a new one unlocked each day leading up to its conclusion. The challenges, like the song, would increase in the number of things the player had to do to unlock the reward.

For example, Day 1 had players starting one single Creative mode match. Day 2 asked gamers to visit two candy canes throughout the map. Day 3 required players to play three matches with a friend. And so on and so forth for 14 days until January 1st.

Many fans were upset, caught off guard by the event’s sudden conclusion. There was, apparently, a lot of confusion regarding the length of the availability of the challenges. Fans thought that the challenges would be available until the end of the season, like Season 7’s Lynx skin challenges.

In an effort to make amends, Epic Games offered the “Equalizer Glider” to all players, whether or not they participated in the “14 Days of Fortnite.” Still not satisfied by that compensation, the game announced that the event would re-open next week and run until January 15th.

Players who missed out or didn’t finish it the first time around are getting a second opportunity to claim some really cool rewards, like the Disco wrap for your weapons or the Merry Munchkin, a sentient gingerbread man back bling.

Once again, Epic Games is proving that it’s very receptive to feedback from the community and will do what they can to rectify anything they feel was a mistake.
