The season 5, week 5 challenges are live! Here is your comprehensive guide to completing the challenges.

It was a busy week in the world of Fortnite. The battle pass challenges from last week were hampered by a bug to the ATKs and shopping carts (that has since been fixed), a new weapon and LTM have been introduced and adjustments to weapons and building have been made.

Most importantly, the week 5 battle pass challenges dropped today and you are here to get a cheat sheet on solving them. The challenges this week are relatively easy so barring a glitch like last week, you shouldn’t have any trouble completing them in good time.

Here is your guide to season 5, week 5.

Free challenges

Search chests at Junk Junction (0/7)

Junk Junction and Haunted Hills both have challenge-related drop implications this week. Have fun navigating the Northwest portion of the map for the next few days as it’s going to be extremely busy.

Use rift portals (0/3)

Your weekly freebie. Here is a map of the various rift spawn locations in the game. The Viking base (or Valhalla as it is being called) is a great location to hit multiple rifts as there are usually many around the edges of the mountain.

Eliminate opponents in a single match (HARD) (0/3)

Three eliminations in one match may seem difficult to some players but it is a reasonable number. If you find you aren’t usually getting three or more eliminations in matches, try landing in busier locations. Be the first to a rooftop weapon and you will rack-up three kills pretty quickly.

Battle Pass challenges

Deal damage with clingers, stink bombs or grenades (0/300)

Lob, lob and lob some more. This challenge can be easily completed in the 50v50 LTM, but that is a cheap challenge win. To complete this in the regular game mode is only going to help your accuracy with the various types of grenades, which will come in handy.

Hit a golf ball from tee to green on different holes (0/5)

When the challenges leaked last night, data miners had this challenge as “score a hole in one on seven different holes.” Thank God that isn’t the case, as it would have been nearly impossible to complete.

Players will be spending a lot of time at Lazy Links this week, so squad up and git the course for this fun challenge. While we’re on the topic, Epic Games should make the golf balls playable for the entirety of the hole. Fortnite golf would be a fun addition to the game!

Follow the treasure map found in Snobby Shores (HARD) (0/1)

The minute you see the map, it’s very clear that the battle star is located at Haunted Hills. If you’d like a visual aide, click this link to be brought to a video of the star’s location. Otherwise, it’s in the Northeast building at Haunted (the one that usually spawns two chests).

Eliminate opponents in Shifty Shafts (HARD) (0/3)

Shifty is a fun location for the weekly elimination challenge. We saw this challenge last season as well and while it can be frustrating (weapon-dependent) it can also be a blast. Running through the shafts in Shifty and blasting opponents with whatever you can get your hands on. Enjoy it!
