Fortnite Battle Royale: Tuesday’s v5.2 patch brought some small but interesting changes
Update v5.2 today had a few more changes than the last few updates, including adjusted vending machines, a new weapon and a brand new LTM. Here are all the details.
We’ve glanced over the last few Fortnite update patch notes casually, not noticing anything other than a few bug fixes and the occasional shotgun nerf. Tuesday’s v5.2 update, though, included some good (and some very good) changes.
Most notably, Fortnite’s newest weapon has arrive. The double barrel shotgun has all-but-eliminated the need for anyone to carry a pump shotgun anymore. These small compact shotty’s are an absolute beast in close range. You can learn all about them here or by clicking the link at the end of this page.
Another interesting change is the further nerfing of C4. The popular remote explosive now comes in packs of three instead of four and the maximum stack size has been reduced from 10 to six. Gone are the days of blowing u entire structures and all those situated in them.
A new LTM has been introduced and it looks like it could be very fun. “Steady Storm” tests players with a storm that starts immediately and never stops moving until victory royale.
The storm closes in over a span of 15 minutes, keeping games relatively short. There are no safe zones, so players will have to judge where the storm is headed as it closes. Finally, the storm does 10 damage per second, so getting caught in it can prove to be fatal very fast.
A couple more minor but important changes this week that are sure to improve your general gaming experience:
Daily and suggested challenges have been added to the map screen, which is something that should have been done months ago. You can now check what challenges you have to complete by entering the map screen.
Vending machines will now be far easier to find and use. Along with their spawn rates being greatly increased, the price for goods has gone down as well. Here are the updates material prices for each vending machine:
- Common – From 100 to 75
- Uncommon – From 200 to 150
- Rare – From 300 to 225
- Epic – From 400 to 300
- Legendary – From 500 to 375
It was an all-around great update. You can read all of the patch notes here. Once again, Epic Games seems to be listening to its fan base and continuously improving the game.
