Battle Royale: A real life version of Fortnite can now be played in Leicester, UK
A laser tag company located in Leicester, UK has created a Fortnite-themed laster tag world and it looks ridiculously fun. Let’s hope more of these start popping up everywhere.
It was only a matter of time before the worlds of paintball and laser tag capitalized on the immense popularity of Fortnite, the world’s biggest battle royale-genre video game.
A company in Leicester, UK has put together a laser tag arena that mimics the game, right down to the locations. Battle Royale Leicester includes four Fortnite-themed playing areas across a massive six acre field.
Players can play in solo, duo or squad modes while parents are invited to relax in the “refreshment zone.” As you can see in the map below, the company included four playable locations and a “Retail Row” for shopping and refreshments.
Perhaps the most impressive part about this so far is that the company putting on this event has yet to get into any legal trouble with Epic Games.
Along with using the named locations, the event also features many Fortnite nuances, such as llamas, forts and shipping containers. The grounds are littered with these types of Fortnite-themed hiding areas, including 1×1’s and ramps.
Assuming this type of thing doesn’t get shut down, we can’t wait for these to start appearing in the United States and Canada (if they haven’t already). The thought of running through a paintball arena searching for weapons and ammunition seems like so much fun.
The Fortnite battle royale genre is easily transferable to real life via laser tag and paintball and it’s surprising these haven’t come about sooner.
If you’re lucky enough to live near Leicester, here is where you can
book your battle royale. If you stand with the rest of us in waiting, let’s hope this comes to North America soon.
